2012 M is a luxury sports car or convertible sports car with all the
surprising elements to thrill you. Comparable vehicles in the
marketplace to the 2012 M include the Acura NSX, the Mercedes-Benz
CLK-Class, and the Volvo C70. Both trims are equipped with a standard
3.2-liter, I6, 315-horsepower engine that achieves 17-mpg in the city
and 25-mpg on the highway. A 5-speed manual transmission is standard.

The 2012 M is a 2-door, 2-passenger sporty coupe, or convertible
sports car, available in two trims, the coupe and the roadster. The
top-line M3 coupe and convertible use a high-power 3.2 liter V6 and
either a 6-speed manual or sequential manual transmission (SMT). The
computer controlled 6-speed SMT doesn't have a clutch pedal, shifts via
steering-wheel "paddles," and can be set to shift like an automatic.
Another standard feature for the "M" series are rain-sensing windshield
wipers and automatic headlamps. Because of the generous powerplant the
M3 has great acceleration with 0-60 at 5.4 seconds with the conventional
6-speed manual. The gas mileage for the M3 with the 6-speed manual is
around 18.7 mpg. These models require premium fuel.
