Porsche has always delivered superior products to the marketplace (okay there mid-engine 914 was a flop) but overall, their products are always superior. After all, Porsche owners are very discriminating and knowledgeable, not to mention extreme sports car enthusiasts. The new lineup lives up to its legacy. The new Porsche 911 Turbo has always been a high performance street sports car. Some of the latest features include:
If you want to purchase a car that can frighten you, then the Porsche 911 Turbo is almost the car, but it has taken measures not to be a terrifying beast. When it was reengineered for 2001, it was endowed with a brawny 3.6-liter, 415-hp twin-turbocharged engine and a six-speed manual transmission (with the five-speed Tiptronic manu-matic optional).

All that horsepower is toned down some by implemention of the standard all-wheel drive and Porsche Stability Management, or PSM (skid control). Considering the car's distinctive look-it has air intakes for the three radiators and two intercoolers, not to mention aggressive eighteen-inch wheels and tires-it's hard to credit the 911 Turbo with too much beneficence, but it must be given the benefit of the doubt. This is especially true when we consider the creation of the derivative 911 GT2, which went on sale in September.

Porsche as been "THE" sports car to own for many years. The current lineup deserves so less reputation, and in fact, with the recent introduction of new body styles, performance enhancements, and safety features, Porsche will remain "THE" car to own from a pure sports car driving experience into the foreseeable future.
